What To Do When Someone Doesn't Believe in Law of Attraction

Do you know someone who thinks the law of attraction is just a bunch of "airy-fairy" hoo-haw?  I bet you do.  Recently I attended a seminar on sales, which was very good, by the way, but the presenter made a few disparaging remarks about those who believe in the law of attraction.  He told us to throw out books like "The Secret" or "Cosmic Ordering".  Actually, he said it a few times throughout the afternoon. The irony was that many of the techniques and lessons he was teaching us, are actually taught in these books!

As a die-hard law of attraction believer, follower, and practitioner, I of course, didn't agree with his opinions.     That's okay.  I wasn't insulted or offended.  Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I firmly believe that you cannot "convert" someone who doesn't want to believe.  I don't think it's my job to do so, and if someone disagrees with my beliefs, then I give them the same amount of respect I think they should give me regarding my beliefs.  In fact, I probably give them way more respect than they give me!

I don't feel sorry for them, either.  Even though I think I've found the golden ticket in the law of attraction and all the excellent teachings out there, I don't spend any vibrational energy feeling pity for people who continue to plod along in life and believe that struggle is just a part of life, that there's nothing they can do about it.  To feel sorry for them would lower my vibrational output and that's the last thing I want to do.  Instead, I choose the other end of the stick and feel appreciation for having come across this knowledge.  I thank God (or source, or the universe, or any higher being) every day that I came across the law of attraction and all that it has taught me.  I feel like I've discovered the land of Narnia. What a privilege!  Do you know how few of us there are???  We're the lucky ones.

Appreciation is one of the most important and beneficial emotions you can feel.  Don't worry what others are thinking, or believing.  Don't even worry if they are snickering behind your back.  Believe what feels right.  Believe what makes you feel good.  And appreciate that you are one of the lucky few who have discovered what this magical universe and you are truly capable of.

Writer's Block? Try Meditation

If you're a writer, or an aspiring writer, then you probably know how this guy feels  ==================>

Completely stuck, no idea where to go, no ideas popping up and the incessant glare of the blank page.

It can be completely frustrating especially if you know you've got something to say.

Whenever I find myself in this situation, which is pretty regularly, by the way, I step away from the page (or the laptop) and close my eyes.

This is where things get a bit mystical, but if you're on my blog, then you've already swallowed the red pill.  I write about Law of Attraction and am a certified practitioner of it, so I take an LOA approach to writer's block.  Simply put, I meditate.

I already meditate daily anyway, but when I'm experiencing writer's block, I meditate with the intention to clear it.  I close my eyes and call on my higher source to fill me with inspiration.  I sit quietly with the knowledge and the faith that the universe will "pop" an idea into my head.   And guess what?   It always works.  ALWAYS!  Without fail.  In fact, some days I sit with my laptop in front of me, close my eyes, and start to write.  The ideas simply start to flow.

The trick is to have faith in the process, and to let the idea come to you.  Not the other way around. Scouring your brain for an idea isn't how this process works.  I'm not saying don't go out and look for an idea.  That works too.  But if you want to simplify things and let the universe do the heavy lifting, then meditate for a few minutes and see what it brings you.

I'd be curious if anyone else out there tries this process.  Please let me know if it works for you too!

How Will I Feel About This a Year From Now? Shifting Negative Emotions to Positive Emotions

Have you ever had one of those days where everything just seems to go wrong?  A day when you just want to crawl back into bed and have a do-over?  Usually these days start with something small:  stubbing your toe after you get up, spilling coffee on your shirt, realizing you're out of milk for your cereal, and about a hundred other tiny events that can happen before you even leave your home.

What usually happens is that these events put you in a bad mood.  You feel grumpy.  You're running late.  You're mad at yourself.  Negative things then start to pile up:  traffic jams everywhere, subway running late, co-workers calling in sick, making more work for you.  Your grumpy mood multiplies exponentially and you can't wait until this day is over.

But that's no way to live is it?  Counting the hours until a day is over.

One of the tricks I like to use to get me out of my bad mood, to replace negative emotions with positive ones, is to ask myself a question: "How will I feel about this a year from now?" I start to imagine myself a year later, and the spilt coffee on my shirt isn't even a distant memory.  In fact, it's so insignificant, that it's disappeared all together!  Seriously, when you do remember spilling coffee a year after the fact?

After asking myself this question, I start to feel a little silly about letting something so insignificant impact my mood.  I'm starting to let it go, and while I'm doing it, I'm replacing my negative thoughts (and emotions) with positive ones:  "Oh well, I'll just change,  no biggie" or "my toe has already started to feel better" or "guess I can just have toast, or pick something at near the office"

And now you're feeling better, and bad things will start to avoid you.  You're day is already getting better.

This little question is also very valuable for bigger stresses in  your life.  I've asked myself this question during stressful times at work, and it has always helped me keep things in perspective and therefore allowed me and my mood to brighten up.

Remember, the law of attraction brings you what you think and feel about.  So when you find yourself feeling grumpy or stressed, try asking yourself "How will I feel about this a year from now?"

Feel free to let me know if you've tried it, and how it worked for you!

Using The Law of Attraction To Help The Universe Help You : Chapter 1

Please enjoy this free sample chapter of my book, Using The Law of Attraction to Help The Universe Help You.  Information on where you can buy this is at the end of the chapter.

Chapter 1.

You Are The Pilot

If you pick up this book thinking “here we go again, it's another book on how the universe works”, then you would be right. If you pick up this book thinking, “I am going to get as much out of this as possible”, then you would be right. Do you see a pattern here?

Do you recognize that your thoughts are what make your reality? Well, we are here to tell you that they do. The thoughts you are thinking right now are what shape your future. This book is here to help you learn how to master your thoughts and bring your desires to you. It is here to help you learn how to be a joyous human being. It is here to teach you that you can have it all. You are the pilot of your own plane. Fly it gloriously, and your life will soar to heights you CAN imagine!

Before we begin, I just thought I would tell you how this is going to work. I am giving you these words through Anne and she is writing them down for you. She is able to raise her vibrations to the level where I can communicate with her. My name is Efram and I am Anne's connection to the universe and all the vibrations she sends out there with her thoughts. She is now in a state where she is able to communicate my thoughts to you on paper. I am not God. I am You. You are me. You are a god yourself. Anything God can do, so too can you. Many of you will struggle with that, but bear with me.

You are a creative force in the world. You were born here with the intention of creating. You do not have to sit back and watch events in your life unfold, without any control over them. In fact, you cannot. All things, events, happenings, occurrences, everything that has ever happened to you has been brought to you by, wait for it.....you! Yes, You are the creator of your own life.

This book will show you how you create both unknowingly, and with knowledge. You can take your life down any path you wish. You have that power. It is your birthright. That is the purpose of this book: to empower you with the knowledge you already have. To teach you how to use it. You'll need to practice, mind. You'll need to put in some real effort if you want real change. If you're up for it, if you think you are worth it (you are), then let's get going.

Pay Attention To Your Heart

Life is not as difficult as so many people make it out to be. At least it doesn't have to be. You were given a life to live for a reason: To experience all the ups and downs. Often people tend to focus on the "downs". But this is a huge mistake. At least it is if you want to have a happy life. The "downs" exist solely that we can know what we prefer and what we don't. If you find yourself stuck in a job you hate (down) than you know what you don't want. And when you know what you don't want, it is easier to realize what you do want. Just focus on the opposite of what you don't want. If you don't want to work hard to make lots of money, than that means you want to play hard to make lots of money. Focus on that! How much fun would life be if you made lots of money by playing! Now, everyone's idea of playing is going to be different. What one person likes isn't necessarily what another person likes. All you have to do is pay attention to how you are feeling. Your feelings will never steer you in the wrong direction. If you are faced with a choice that feels wrong, than listen to your feelings. Some people call that listening to your gut. It's the same thing. Fear prevents many from listening to their gut. If you are offered a job that you know you will hate, then you have a choice. Fear is that little voice inside your head saying "what if that's the only offer you get? How will you pay your bills? Everyone hates their job, so why are you so special?" We've all heard that voice before, and listened to it. More importantly, we've all probably regretted listening to that voice. Put that fear in a box, and start trusting your emotions. If something smells rotten to you, or just plain not right for you, then stay away from it. Focus on what you love. Pay attention to your heart. It will never lead you astray. The universe works in magical ways and is always wanting what is best for us, but we have to be willing partners. If you tell universe what you want, by focusing on it, then the universe will bring it to you. Have faith, trust in the process, find fun and humour in the little things, and bigger things will come your way.

The Law of Attraction Challenge: Continued

My next item that I wanted to attract to myself (6-7 on the get-ability scale) was a microwave oven.  My husband and I went on holiday for two weeks and when we got back we discovered that our microwave oven stopped working.  So, as I had just received Chauncey's instruction to pick a new item, I decided to attract a new microwave.

I said to my husband "leave it to me.  I'll get us a new one."  This surprised him a bit, as usually he does that sort of thing, but he agreed.  I then added "and if I don't get one within a month, you can take over"
"A MONTH!?!?"  he said, eyes widening.  Obviously he's used to life's conveniences.  I explained that I wanted to use the microwave as my next item on the scale to attract.  Reluctantly, but patiently, he agreed.

I followed the steps a bit better this time.  I wrote a note at my bedside to remind myself to think of a microwave before going to bed.  (I always find little notes to myself help)

About 3 weeks later, and still without microwave, my good friend Rachel called me.  She and her boyfriend had just bought a house and were moving in together.  The house came with kitchen appliances, which included a microwave installed above the oven.  As she and Jason had both lived on their own, they also both came to the party with their own microwaves.  Deciding that they only needed one as a back-up, Rachel was calling me to see if I was interested in having her microwave.

I instantly started laughing which suprised her a great deal.  "What's so funny?"  she asked.  "It's a long story, I'll tell you later.  But yes, we do need a microwave as it goes."  The  next day Jason delivered it to our front door.

So there it is!  This challenge works!  My next task is to pick an item that's 9-10 on the get-ability scale.  I've got a good one, and I'd love to attract it.  Stay tuned to see how I do!

Law of Attraction Challenge: The Results.....so far

So, I know it's been awhile since I last blogged about this Law of Attraction Challenge, my birthday to be precise, and I've been given a gentle reminder from Chauncey that I said I'd blogged about the results.  My bad for taking so long!

The challenge required me to pick an item I wanted to attract and think about it regularly (I'm paraphrasing, but for the full explanation click here).  The item I picked was a book.  I had recently attended a weekend seminar called Your Call To Greatness (and if you're in London, I'd highly recommend it....it's free!).  During this seminar, a book was often referred to.  It was called The Magician's Way.  It sounded intriguing and I made a decision that I would purchase this book at the end of the seminar.

Well, a few days after the seminar is when I received the challenge from Chauncey, so my item to pick was easy.  I was going to attract this book!  I know it would have been simple to just buy it off Amazon, but that felt like cheating, so I followed Chauncey's rules....to a point.  I must confess, I had trouble thinking about this book just before going to sleep.  Some nights I would just crash, others I'd want to read something fictional, but a lot of time, I forgot.  Chauncey advised me to start thinking of this book at various times during the day to compensate, so I did.

About a month later it arrived and here's how.  At my husband's work, there is a book recycling program, which he inadvertantly started.  People brought in their unwanted books and put them in the lunch room for anyone to take. Occasionally he would peruse the books, and bring one or two home for me which he thought I would like.  Well, you can probably guess what happened next.  One day, he came home and said "Oh, I've got another book I thought you'd like."  He reached into his bag, and before I could read the cover, I knew it was my book.  A big smile came over my face and when he handed it to me, I looked at it and read the cover "The Magician's Way".  I let out a humungous laugh, the kind where you throw you head back.  He looked at me like I was crazy. And then I explained all to him.

After telling Chauncey about my success with his challenge, he told me to take it up a notch and pick an item that was a 6-7 on the scale of "get-ability"  Tomorrow I'll let you know what happened.
