Day 40: Still Learning

Yesterday was my boyfriend's niece's 2nd birthday, so we went over to his sister's house for a BBQ and family party.  We always like going over there because both she and her husband really good cooks, and the booze is always plentiful!

For a few years now his sister has expressed a desire to move house.  They've got 3 young children and 2 of them share a bedroom.  It's a nice house, in a very nice location, but a tad small for their family.  Her husband however, doesn't want to move.

So last night we were chatting with her once more about the possibility of them moving to a bigger house.  She came out with something which really surprised me.  She said she's starting to accept the fact that they won't be moving any time soon.  She started talking about how you should just appreciate what you have and not pine away for something you don't have.  Life's too short and you should count your blessings.

I was really surprised to hear her say this, because I've never heard her talk like this before.  She got all philosophical on us!  It was nice, quite frankly, to hear her speak like this.  You should be appreciative of what you already have (nice house, nice location etc...) and stop worrying about what you don't have.  That is the quickest way to get more of what you like.  Appreciate it.  She wants a bigger house?  She's decided to appreciate the nice one she already has.

After a few minutes of hearing her talk like this, I was reminded of what I wrote in my last post.  People around me are starting to say things, and behave in certain ways which are now a reflection of what I am trying to attract myself.  They are showing me the way.  Teachers are popping up in places (and people) I hadn't expected.  You know what they say, when the student is ready, the teacher will appear.

Guess I'm ready!
