Pay Attention To Your Heart

Life is not as difficult as so many people make it out to be. At least it doesn't have to be. You were given a life to live for a reason: To experience all the ups and downs. Often people tend to focus on the "downs". But this is a huge mistake. At least it is if you want to have a happy life. The "downs" exist solely that we can know what we prefer and what we don't. If you find yourself stuck in a job you hate (down) than you know what you don't want. And when you know what you don't want, it is easier to realize what you do want. Just focus on the opposite of what you don't want. If you don't want to work hard to make lots of money, than that means you want to play hard to make lots of money. Focus on that! How much fun would life be if you made lots of money by playing! Now, everyone's idea of playing is going to be different. What one person likes isn't necessarily what another person likes. All you have to do is pay attention to how you are feeling. Your feelings will never steer you in the wrong direction. If you are faced with a choice that feels wrong, than listen to your feelings. Some people call that listening to your gut. It's the same thing. Fear prevents many from listening to their gut. If you are offered a job that you know you will hate, then you have a choice. Fear is that little voice inside your head saying "what if that's the only offer you get? How will you pay your bills? Everyone hates their job, so why are you so special?" We've all heard that voice before, and listened to it. More importantly, we've all probably regretted listening to that voice. Put that fear in a box, and start trusting your emotions. If something smells rotten to you, or just plain not right for you, then stay away from it. Focus on what you love. Pay attention to your heart. It will never lead you astray. The universe works in magical ways and is always wanting what is best for us, but we have to be willing partners. If you tell universe what you want, by focusing on it, then the universe will bring it to you. Have faith, trust in the process, find fun and humour in the little things, and bigger things will come your way.

The Law of Attraction Challenge: Continued

My next item that I wanted to attract to myself (6-7 on the get-ability scale) was a microwave oven.  My husband and I went on holiday for two weeks and when we got back we discovered that our microwave oven stopped working.  So, as I had just received Chauncey's instruction to pick a new item, I decided to attract a new microwave.

I said to my husband "leave it to me.  I'll get us a new one."  This surprised him a bit, as usually he does that sort of thing, but he agreed.  I then added "and if I don't get one within a month, you can take over"
"A MONTH!?!?"  he said, eyes widening.  Obviously he's used to life's conveniences.  I explained that I wanted to use the microwave as my next item on the scale to attract.  Reluctantly, but patiently, he agreed.

I followed the steps a bit better this time.  I wrote a note at my bedside to remind myself to think of a microwave before going to bed.  (I always find little notes to myself help)

About 3 weeks later, and still without microwave, my good friend Rachel called me.  She and her boyfriend had just bought a house and were moving in together.  The house came with kitchen appliances, which included a microwave installed above the oven.  As she and Jason had both lived on their own, they also both came to the party with their own microwaves.  Deciding that they only needed one as a back-up, Rachel was calling me to see if I was interested in having her microwave.

I instantly started laughing which suprised her a great deal.  "What's so funny?"  she asked.  "It's a long story, I'll tell you later.  But yes, we do need a microwave as it goes."  The  next day Jason delivered it to our front door.

So there it is!  This challenge works!  My next task is to pick an item that's 9-10 on the get-ability scale.  I've got a good one, and I'd love to attract it.  Stay tuned to see how I do!

Law of Attraction Challenge: The Results.....so far

So, I know it's been awhile since I last blogged about this Law of Attraction Challenge, my birthday to be precise, and I've been given a gentle reminder from Chauncey that I said I'd blogged about the results.  My bad for taking so long!

The challenge required me to pick an item I wanted to attract and think about it regularly (I'm paraphrasing, but for the full explanation click here).  The item I picked was a book.  I had recently attended a weekend seminar called Your Call To Greatness (and if you're in London, I'd highly recommend it....it's free!).  During this seminar, a book was often referred to.  It was called The Magician's Way.  It sounded intriguing and I made a decision that I would purchase this book at the end of the seminar.

Well, a few days after the seminar is when I received the challenge from Chauncey, so my item to pick was easy.  I was going to attract this book!  I know it would have been simple to just buy it off Amazon, but that felt like cheating, so I followed Chauncey's rules....to a point.  I must confess, I had trouble thinking about this book just before going to sleep.  Some nights I would just crash, others I'd want to read something fictional, but a lot of time, I forgot.  Chauncey advised me to start thinking of this book at various times during the day to compensate, so I did.

About a month later it arrived and here's how.  At my husband's work, there is a book recycling program, which he inadvertantly started.  People brought in their unwanted books and put them in the lunch room for anyone to take. Occasionally he would peruse the books, and bring one or two home for me which he thought I would like.  Well, you can probably guess what happened next.  One day, he came home and said "Oh, I've got another book I thought you'd like."  He reached into his bag, and before I could read the cover, I knew it was my book.  A big smile came over my face and when he handed it to me, I looked at it and read the cover "The Magician's Way".  I let out a humungous laugh, the kind where you throw you head back.  He looked at me like I was crazy. And then I explained all to him.

After telling Chauncey about my success with his challenge, he told me to take it up a notch and pick an item that was a 6-7 on the scale of "get-ability"  Tomorrow I'll let you know what happened.

Law of Attraction Challenge

by the author of Using The Law of Attraction To Help The Universe Help You

A few days ago I got a message on Twitter from my friend Chauncey, asking me what was happening with my blog....you see, it's been awhile since I updated.  I explained to him that, as I am prone to laziness, I needed a new challenge to kick me in the butt.

Being the coach that he is, I knew he would respond with one.  A few days later I got an email from him describing his challenge for me.

In a nutshell, I have to pick an item that I would like to attract (can't be money).  Also, the item has to be a 10 on a 1 to 10 scale in terms of achievability.....Chauncey informed me that it wouldn't be wise to try and attract a castle, as it's a large target...."One day", I informed him.  The item had to be something that wasn't too big, or too small.

So, after some thought, with item finally chosen, the next step was to write down the following:

"I am so happy now that the universe has given the right _______________ for me."  I have to stay general with this statement. As he explained :

Notice I do no want it to be specific. For example if you want a new digital camera say digital camera not Nikon D40. This opens up the universe to give you the perfect digital camera for you.

After writing down the statement, I was to feel the item as already received.  I allowed the happiness and gratitude to wash over me, as if the item were already mine.

I wrote down the statement, keeping it general, and as instructed, placed it in a sealed envelope and wrote the date on the seal.

The next step is, twice a day, at bedtime, and when I awaken in the morning, to spend five minutes visualizing this item.  Feeling it, noticing the colour of it, imaging it in my hands...you get the idea.

Now I have to wait and see how long it takes to attract the item.

I accepted the challenge, because Chauncey's so full of enthusiasm, he's a hard guy to say no to.

My first thought though, upon reading this challenge was that it would be difficult to imagine this item as soon as I wake up.  You see, I like need coffee first thing in the morning.  I thought "how am I gonna do this, when I really need to get up and have my java first thing?"

Well, the universe is a magical place.  I started this challenge yesterday, when the phone rang at 6:15am, which is about 45 minutes before I get up.  It was my Dad.  He never calls at this time ( he lives in Canada where they are five hours behind us in the UK)  Ergo, it was 1:15am for him.  He called to wish me an early happy birthday, as he was going away for a long weekend (apparently somewhere where they don't have telephones....insert sarcasm) and wouldn't get to call me on the actual day.

After groggily thanking him, (what?!?!) for waking me, I realized he did me a favour.  I couldn't go back to sleep.....so what did I do?  Yep, I spent the time visualizing my item.  Check.

Then, this morning, my actual birthday, regards, well-wishes, etc are welcome:-), my lovely hubby said something extremely rare.  "I'll get you a coffee this morning" as he bounded out of bed.  (I'm usually the coffee maker/getter) He left me alone for....you guessed it....about five minutes.  Time I used to visualize my item again!

Twice already the Universe has shown me that it's on my side!  It is a magical place, and will work wonders for you, if you let it. I can't wait to receive my item!

How To Silence That Negative Voice Inside with Powerful Daily Affirmations

by the author of Using The Law of Attraction To Help The Universe Help You

Daily affirmations are a powerful way to manifest the health, wealth and relationships you desire.  Several people use ones like:

I am worthy
I am confident
I am successful
I am abundant
I am beautiful

and while these are all very good to use, many people get stuck with the "I am-ness" of these statements.  Telling yourself "I Am Worthy" often times releases that little voice in your head that says "no you're not".
You know the one I'm talking about.  We all have that little voice.  It's a bugger, isn't it?  It completely undoes all the good work that affirmations can do for you.

That's why I want to share with you a little trick I use in my daily affirmations.  Instead of leading them with "I am"  I start all my affirmations with "I like to feel...."

So, here's how I do it:

"I like to feel worthy"  => little voice can't argue with that
"I like to feel confident => little voice can't argue with that
"I like to feel successful => little voice can't argue with that
"I like to feel abundant => little voice can't argue with that
"I like to feel beautiful => little voice can't argue with that

And while I'm repeating these affirmations to myself, before I know it, memories pop up of a time when I did feel worthy, confident, successful, abundant, beautiful, and I bask it in.  I soak in all the memories and let the good vibrations take over.  The more I do this, the more I begin to move into the "I am-ness" feeling.

I am worthy.  Yes!  Now I feel it!

Try and let me know if it works for you.
