Why You Should Be Yourself and Fly Your Freak Flag

by Anne Bellamy, author of Using The Law of Attraction To Help The Universe Help You.

Recently I read a blogpost by Steven E. Rice entitled To Thine Own Self Be True and it really struck a chord with me. In this post Steven says "I have lived afraid to speak my truth. How about you?"  Good question, and I think one that most of us can answer "Yes" to. I know that's my answer.

After all, how many people are expecting us to be certain things?  Parents, siblings, spouses, children, friends?
They all have an idea on how we are supposed to be, think and act.  To change that can really upset the applecart.

Thing is, you can't get what you want, unless you be who you are.  Just won't happen.  You'll get other people's results, not your own.

So, who am I?  I'm someone who is into the law of attraction and spirituality.  I've written a book, or rather I co-wrote it with Efram who is my spiritual guide.....five years ago I would have laughed my head off at the thought, but there you have it.

In the spirit of having a little fun, I've compiled a list of other things about me:

1. I am messy.  The worst housekeeper ever.

2. I have terrible penmanship and I can't draw.  I HATE Pictionary.

3. I am extremely punctual. (my boyfriend prefers to use the word annoyingly....)

4. I am utterly, totally, and completely addicted to Survivor (please, producers, let Canadians play!)

5. My sense of humour is fairly immature.  I like the silly, inappropriate and sometimes rude. I giggle like a little girl.

6. I don't carry tissues or painkillers, ever. (I've been told I'm not a "normal" woman because of this)

7. I simply cannot share any dairy product with anyone.  No you may not have some of my ice cream.

8. If they weren't so fatty, I could easily consume a jarful of olives in one sitting.

9. I know all the words to "Copacabana" and if you get me drunk enough I will belt them out for you. (but be warned, and I cannot sing)

10. I love to travel, not only to see lots of amazing places, but because I like feeling slightly out of place.  I like being the odd one out.

There's many more, but I'll stop at 10. How about you?  Fly your freak flag!
