Creating Your Future and Re-Writing Your Past

You are a creator in this world.  You were born and came to life so that you may create what you desire to have, see and experience.  You did NOT choose to come here to be a feather in the wind.  Life, you determined before you were born, is going to be fun!  "I am going to have a blast!  I am going to decide what I love and what I don't love and then I'm gonna focus on the love and get amazing results!"  That is what you thought before you were born.  Your intention was fun, love, happiness and joy.  Your intention was to experience the bad stuff, yes, but only in order that you could focus more clearly on the good stuff.  You didn't come to here to have mediocrity rule your life.

But it often does, doesn't it?

Answer these questions about yourself:

Do you wake up tired, and disappointed that it's time to get up?
Do you dread the thought of going into work?
Do you have to drag yourself out of bed?
Do you wake up "on the wrong side of the bed"?
Do you travel to work with a scowl on your face?  Seriously, how often do you smile on your journey to work?
Do you ever think "Yippee!  I get to go to work today?"
Do you ever feel stressed about how much work you have to do?
Do you ever worry about what your boss will say/do?
Do you come home exhausted every night?
Do you miss out on enjoying time with your family?

There's about a million more questions I could ask, but if you answer yes to any of these, then you are settling for mediocrity, my friend.  And don't tell me it's okay, because that's what Joe, your next door neighbour does, or that's what all your other friends and relatives have to do!  If it's your goal to be just as blah, as the next person, then go ahead, and use them as your examples.

If, however, you want more (and really, most do) than you have to create it for yourself.  You have to be a little different from every one else you know.  You've got to be a little off-centre.  And the only reason you'll be off-centre is because you've surrounded yourself by people who also settle for a mediocre life.  Decide you want more, and people who do have more will start to come into your life and you won't be so different after all.

How do you do it? 4 Things:

1. Meditate every morning - get up early if you have to, no excuses!

2. Watch your thoughts- if you wake up grumpy then deliberately think of something that makes you happy. Yes, you do have the power to do this!  You are not a slave to your thoughts.  You're the boss.

3.  Imagine over and over again, something that you want.  See from your own eyes the picture of the life you want to create.  Feel good about it. If it feels bad, then you're doing it wrong.  Think thoughts that put you in a happy mood first, then visualize.  Those thoughts can start off as simple as "I like to feel good.  I like to feel happy.  I like to feel easy."  Follow that train and see where it takes you.

4. Don't let your past experiences determine your future ones.  Had an argument with a co-worker yesterday?  Replay the scene in your imagination where you came to a peaceful resolution of the conflict. See the two of your smiling and shaking hands.  This activity cleans up the negative vibrations you've been carrying around with you....and we all know negative vibrations reap negative results.

You do have the power to create your future and re-write your past.  All it takes is some time and effort on your part.  Be brave, be different, be daring.  Don't think you have it in you?  Well I think you do.  Everybody does.  Remember, fortune favours the brave, so if you want different results, you're gonna have to be brave and try different things.

My Top 3 Reasons Why The Law of Attraction Isn't "Working" For You

If you believe in the Law of Attraction but you're still not getting the results you want, than this post is for you.  Without manifested proof of the Law of Attraction, many people throw up their hands and give up.  But please don't do that.  There are reasons you are not seeing the results you want to see.  You have to get honest with yourself and determine if you're guilty of any of these.

Reason # 1

You're a stock taker.  You do your meditations, you do your rampages of appreciation or abundance, you keep your thoughts and vibrations as positive as possible....and then.....you look around.  You check out what you have versus what you don't have.  You're taking stock of what is missing from your life.  Focusing on lack instead of feeling appreciation for what you do have. So your millions haven't started rolling in yet?  Don't check your bank account in frustration, wondering when the Universe is going to deliver your money.  Instead, take stock of what you do have.  Even if it's something as small as a comfy pair of slippers (don't knock slippers, I am the slipper queen!)

When you realize that what your wanting hasn't shown up in your experience yet, in other words, it hasn't manifested, then you are actually blocking the Universe from bringing your stuff.  It's push/pull.  "I want it.  I don't have it.  I feel like I have it.  I don't have it." Back and forth, back and forth, and nothing changes.  Stop looking at what hasn't arrived yet, and appreciate what has arrived.  For what you already have, is a manifestation!  You manifested those comfy slippers!  Feel appreciation for them and for your manifesting powers!

Reason # 2

You're not keeping the faith.  You want to believe in the Law of Attraction, but everyone and everything around you is telling you that life doesn't work that way.  "You are supposed to work hard for money."  "Life is supposed to be hard."  "There's no such thing as a free lunch" (I never understood that one.  I've had plenty of free lunches in my life, thank you Universe!)  To be fair, it's everywhere.  Turn on the news, or read a newspaper and you'll see plenty of this crap.  It's all over the place.  No wonder you're having difficulty believing.  Here's a little tip:  Stop reading the newspaper or watching it on tv.  I stopped doing this years ago, and I've never missed it.  One correction:  I do like my crossword puzzles, so newspapers are good for something I guess.

You have to be able to remove yourself from "reality" at least for a bit, every single day.  "Reality" is just something that, too, was manifested.  If you don't like what you see, then take your focus away from it, from time to time, just for a few moments, every day and create the reality you do want to see.  I'm not saying you can ignore what "is", but you can turn away from it for a bit.

Reason # 3

You.  Yep, I'm talking about YOU.  There's not a lot I can tell you about you, only that you may lack the discipline to create what you want.  You may say to yourself "I don't have time to meditate, today.  I'll do it tomorrow."  To paraphrase Abraham, that's like saying "I don't have time to look for my car keys, so I'll just walk to work."  Don't procrastinate and do tomorrow what you need to do today.  Because, have you ever noticed, tomorrow never comes?  It is always today!  Do want you need to do today!  Get up 20 minutes earlier and meditate, or exercise, or do a rampage of appreciation.  Stop with the excuses, already!  Just do what you need to do!  As I've always said, you're in control.  You're the driver.  Hence the name of this blog is Soul Steering!  It's up to you and no one else.

Take a look at these reasons and be honest with yourself.  Are you guilty of any or all of them?  That's okay if you are, because every moment of every day is an opportunity for you to start anew.  The past is the past. It doesn't count anymore.  Make a decision to start right now. It's really the only time you can start, because, have you noticed, it's always right now?

Don't Let Your Past Predict Your Future

"You've made your bed, so now you have to lie in it"  How many times have you heard, or said, this little chestnut?  Basically, what it's saying is, you have to live with the consequences of your choices.  You have to let your choices define who you are.  You have to carry around these consequences like an albatross around your neck.

What a load of crap!

People like to put others into certain categories.  You decided to study chemistry, so now you have to become a scientist.  You took a job in sales, so now you're a salesperson and you  have to build your career in that area.  You learned how to play the piano, so now you're a musician.  God forbid you decide one day that you don't like chemistry, sales, or music.  But how can that be?!?!  You chose those things for yourself!  You've made your bed......blah, blah, blah.

If I were to give a young adult starting out in life it would be this: "Don't be afraid to make a choice.  You can always change your mind."

Some people take so long making decisions because they are afraid that they will define who they are for the rest of their lives.  If that were true, no wonder they take so long to decide!  What a scary proposition!

But guess what?  You can change your mind.  You can change your life.  You can make a new choice.  You start off by thinking a new thought. And then another one.  And then another one.  And so on....
Bit by bit, the thoughts you think bring about new experiences, new choices, a new life.

YOU GET TO BE WHOEVER YOU WANT TO BE!

Don't let others define who you are.  You get to do that.  Don't let others tell you should do.  You get to do that. And if you make a "bad" choice, you get to choose again.  Every. Single. Time.

So go on, made a decision.  And if you want to change your mind, then change it!  You're allowed.  That's why you're here:  to create your own life, your own "mistakes" and your own choices.
