Building Self-Confidence Through Goal Setting

by Anne Bellamy, Author of Using The Law of Attraction to Help The Universe Help You

One of the easiest and best ways to build your self-confidence is to set daily goals for yourself.  These goals do not have to be monumental, or change the world.  They just have to be tiny little steps that you'd like to take, that would make you feel better about yourself.  Accomplishment is something that we all strive for, as it's what makes us happy.  Think about it.  How happy were you when you:

Got your first job?
Bought your first house?
Bought your first car?

Pretty proud of yourself, right? Okay, well then, give yourself that feeling every day.  Let's start small, especially if you're working on building your self-confidence.  Here are some daily goals you can set for yourself:

1. Get up half an hour earlier than usual and meditate....do this even if it's raining!  You'll feel productive, focused and more importantly, proud of yourself.

2. Exercise. Resolve to do some form of exercise every day.  Even if you've had a busy day, try and walk home from the station, or do some stretches at your desk.  Something that makes you say "my body will thank me for this." You know it feels good after you've exercised, and I'm not talking just about physically.

3. Do not criticize or gossip.  Are you that person at work who loves to spread rumours....or do you sit next to them?  Strive today to not get involved in any mud-slinging conversations.  See the bright side of things.  Smile a little more today.  Don't take things so seriously.  The more you focus on positive things, the less you will be noticing the negatives.

4. Read some self-help books.  Instead of plopping yourself in front of the television, decide to spend half an hour reading something that nourishes your mind, and better yet, your self-confidence and self-love.
Here's some great suggestions:

Everyone has their own idea of what accomplishments are.  How about cleaning the kitchen? Vacuuming the living room? Shovelling the driveway?  It doesn't really matter, as long as it's a goal that is attainable to you, and one that will make you feel proud of yourself.

The prouder you feel about yourself, the more it will show.  You will begin to radiate self-confidence.  The more you treat yourself with respect and love, the more others will do the same.  It all starts with self-confidence.

Law of Attraction: Train Your Mind

by Anne Bellamy, Author of Using The Law of Attraction to Help The Universe Help You

A trick you may use in getting the Universe to do your bidding is to use affirmations in your daily life.  They may start out as something that you do not really believe in, but like water on the rocks, the more consistently you repeat affirmations, the more you are imprinting them into your mind.  Once your mind is imprinted, or in a state of belief, than you can send out these vibrations to the Universe.

Any affirmation that is repeated often enough will eventually be accepted as true by your mind.  The Universe will not know the difference between that which you have trained your mind to believe and that which was already a belief in the first place.  In fact, the affirmation will, more often than not, replace the belief that has been there for years.

This is a good thing! So many beliefs that have existed in your mind for years and years, do not serve you!  Replace those negative and unfulfilling beliefs with beliefs that affirm your greatness and your oneness with the Universe.  Start today by finding an affirmation that suits you.  Here are some suggestions:

  • I have the perfect body

  • I am abundant

  • I am loving

  • I am a money magnet

  • I love money

  • I am patience

  • I am grateful

  • I am caring

  • I am rich

  • I am healthy

Try some of these, or come up with your own!  You control your mind.  It is a tool for you.  You can train it to believe anything you want it to believe.

Law of Attraction: What are You Focused On?

by Anne Bellamy, Author of Using The Law of Attraction to Help The Universe Help You

In learning the Law of Attraction there must be one simple thing that you have learned.  What you focus on, materializes.  Whether it's something you want, or not.  What I want to do today is look at what you are focused on, and why.

Because it's always the why that provides insight into the emotion behind the goal.  If you are focused on becoming rich, what is your motivation?  Are you focusing on becoming rich because you do not want to be poor?  Are you focused on riches because you are afraid of losing everything?  Are you focused on your money, or are you really focused on your lack of money?

You have to look at the motivation behind your point of focus, in other words the why. If you are focused on becoming rich for any of the above reasons, then you will never become rich.  Your motivation for wanting something, must always feel like a positive motivation.  It must always make you smile.  Does fearing debt make  you smile?  No, it probably gives you a stomach ache.

Does imagining yourself on a private yacht, suntanning on deck with a glass of champagne make  you smile?  Can you imagine yourself there?  Can you feel the warmth of the sun on your skin?

Can you feel the bubbles in the champagne as they slide down your throat?  Does that feel good? You betcha.  Your motivation for riches has now become something that makes you feel good.

If focusing on your goal, whatever it may be, doesn't make you smile, then you either have to change the goal, or change the motivation (why) behind the goal. You cannot keep your eye on  your destination if you are looking behind you all the time.  Look forward, see and feel your destination coming closer.

Build Your Self-Confidence and Learn to Be Happy

by Anne Bellamy, Author of Using The Law of Attraction to Help The Universe Help You

If you are lacking in Self-confidence than you are lacking in what is one of your greatest tools.  Your level of self-confidence determines what you bring into this experience of your life.  The way to bring more self-confidence into your life is to be still with yourself.

A lot of people feel uncomfortable just being alone, never mind being still.  But you must not be afraid to be alone.  For it is in this solitude that you will be able to develop an incredibly strong sense of self-confidence.

How does this work?  When you are alone, there is no one to influence your thoughts.  There is no one to dominate your attention.  Everything that you think about can be focussed on you and you alone. By the way, you always have the ability to do this, it's just easier with no distractions.

So, for the novice, find some time and space to yourself.  Be alone and feel comfortable with it.  Feel at peace with the solitude.  Invite it in.  There is absolutely nothing wrong with being alone.  Some absolutely love it!

You need to learn to love your own company.  You need to grow, on your terms, at your own speed.  When you find yourself alone, or when you make yourself alone, give some time to consider your thoughts.  What are you thinking about all day long?  Do you punish yourself for being late?  Do you worry about having a bad hair day?  Do you think this outfit makes you look fat?

All this self-doubt only sabotages your happiness and therefore, your future.  Do you know the saying that you wouldn't worry so much what people think about you if you realized how little people think about you?  Consider that!

Really, how often do you think about other people? Not too often. Most of us are self-absorbed. That's great on some level.  If that self-absorption leads you to a good place, but if you're lacking in self-confidence, that self-absorption is quite harmful.

You need to start thinking about what you do like about yourself.  You need to start realizing that the Universe loves you.  That you have a spirit guide, who loves you.  Call it what you will, there is a higher power who sees all the glory that is you.

Spend some time alone and consider your good qualities.  Make a point of doing so.  Count your blessings.  Big yourself up!  You need to do this before you can attract more happiness and abundance into your life.  Here's a few things about yourself that may make you smile:

  • Your sense of humour

  • Your intelligence

  • Your kindness

  • Your compassion

  • Your patience

  • Your curiosity

  • Your smile

  • Your laugh

  • Your physical appearance

  • The friends you have attracted

  • The family who loves you

  • Your pet who loves you

You may only relate to a few of the things on this list, but that's okay.  Pick what you relate to, and focus on those things!  Be grateful for your compassion, your patience or you intelligence.

Feel your head with gratitude and appreciation!  Your self-confidence will start to rise.  You will start to believe in  yourself. And when you have belief, you are speaking the language of the Universe, and it will start to reply.

Feel Gratitude and Live in Abundance

by Anne Bellamy, Author of Using The Law of Attraction to Help The Universe Help You

In your life there are many, many things for you to be grateful for.  I don't care who you are or what your circumstances are.  There are always things you can look at and say Thank You! to the Universe for.  You can be grateful that you are alive for one thing.  You can be grateful for air that you breathe.  You can be grateful for the cool breeze you feel on your face after a warm summer day.  You can be grateful for the cool ocean water that splashes your skin.  You can be grateful for the bright blue sky above your head.  You can be grateful for the miracles that nature show you every day.

Wherever you look, if you truly look, you will find things to be grateful for.  That's the trick though, isn't it?  You really have to look for it sometimes. And many times, we forget to look.  I have a thought to share with you that might inspire you to look more often: When you feel gratitude, even for the smallest thing, the Universe feels that gratitude and gives you more to be grateful for.  When you feel grateful to have money to pay that energy bill, the Universe will provide you with opportunities to have more money.  Doesn't that sound  like the best reason , ever, to pay a bill?

Even our hardships are things to be grateful for.  When we experience something we don't like, we automatically learn what we do like. (for if you don't like rainy weather, you realize you like sunny weather) When you realize what you do like, be grateful for that opportunity to experience what  you didn't like, because the Universe will recognize the gratitude you feel in the lesson you have learned.  We experience hardships so that we can know what we like. Be grateful for that! Know what you like and give thanks!

Here's a video I found which might help you realize all there is (and more!) to be grateful for.  Watch it everyday if you need a boost.
