Tell Your Mirror The Truth

by Anne Bellamy, Author of Using The Law of Attraction to Help The Universe Help You

The worst thing you can do to yourself is to look in the mirror and lie to it.  What do I mean by lying to the mirror?  I mean telling it a story about the person in front of it, that just isn't true.  The stories I'm talking about are ones like:

"You are not smart enough"
"You are not motivated enough"
"You are too lazy"
"Someone else will take care of you"
"You are too ugly/fat/pimply/old/young/stupid/silly/wimpy/tired"

The reason this is the worst thing you can do to yourself, is that the mirror believes everything you tell it.  Then it does what mirrors do, and reflects.  You will see the very picture of the lie you have just told the mirror.  Right in front of you.  And when you see evidence of that lie, it becomes truth.  You suddenly become all of the lies you have told the mirror.

If you would just look into that mirror and start telling it some beautiful truths, your whole world will change.  That mirror will believe every word you tell it, and reflect it back to you.  Your confidence will soar.  You will feel like you can achieve anything.

Some people don't believe in positive affirmations.  They think they are just a bit of hoo-haw.  That if you say something positive to yourself like "I am good enough" that there will be a tiny voice inside your head that says "No you're not".  Okay, okay, we all have that tiny voice. But remember, it's tiny for a reason.  It's tiny because it has no real power, only the power you give it.  So, really, you are the one with all the power. After all, you must have possession of it in the first place if you're going to give it away. What are you going to do with that power?  Will you give that power to the tiny voice?  Or will you gift it to yourself?

Telling the mirror some beautiful truths is gifting yourself with power.  So stand in front of that mirror, and tell it:
"I am worthy"
"I am capable"
"I am motivated"
"I am powerful"
"I am smart"
"I am funny"
"I am pretty"

Ahhhh!  Doesn't that feel better now?

2 Tips That Will Change Your Life (Seriously)

by Mike Geary, Certified Nutrition Specialist, Certified Personal Trainer
The Truth about Six-Pack Abs

achievementI was just recently reminded of these 2 tips while reading a great book... Bill Phillips newest best-seller:  Transformation... which by the way, I just had the pleasure of meeting Bill in person a few weeks ago, and this book is actually about WAY more than just fitness or nutrition...actually 99% of the book is about transforming your entire being, your mind... your entire life.  It's powerful stuff, and a great read.

Now I will say that I think most of us, already know these 2 tips below, but may not practice them as often as we should... and I know personally, I found this to be a great reminder of how powerful these are and how they can change your life.

1.  In Chapter 8 in Bill's book, Transformation, he starts off this chapter with a shocking story about a man named Azim who tragically had his 20-year old son murdered by a teenage gang member 5 years prior.  The story ends up a bit unfathomable to most of us, as it turns out that Azim actually forgave his sons killer, in what can only be considered one of the most courageous acts of compassion and forgiveness than most of us could ever even contemplate.

After all, how many of us walk around for years holding grudges with a friend or family member over something silly and stupid that means nothing in the big picture of our lives?  However, this courageous father found it in his heart to forgive his sons murderer, the ultimate act of forgiveness.

For most of us, forgiveness will not be for such extreme events...instead, it will be for smaller things that we've been holding deep inside (bottled up inside, causing us hidden stress) against a particular person, maybe a sibling, a parent, a friend, or a spouse.  But what we don't realize is that these bottled up grudges harm OUR health, and do very little to "punish" the other person.

Bill points out a great saying "Resentment is like drinking poison and waiting for your enemy to die".  Yes, you're harming yourself more than than the other person by holding onto resentment.
Another great saying to always keep in mind that will change the way you treat other people who may have hurt you:  "To err is human; to forgive is divine".

Yes, we all make mistakes... and if you think back to the story about the father that forgave his sons killer... Was that teenage gang member really an evil person deep down to his soul?  Or was he a victim of society, which led him into the gang lifestyle?  There's always more to the story than what's on the surface.
The most important thing we need to realize is that holding onto anger, resentment, or grudges is scientifically proven to harm our health and make us die earlier.

Bill points out a study in the Journal of Epidemiology & Community Health involving 2,755 people over 10 years.  According to the study that Bill summarizes, "Those who repressed anger and held resentments were found to be twice as likely to die of a heart attack compared to people in the study who were able to process and let go of negative feelings."

Puts you in the spirit to forgive someone, doesn't it.

Another VERY important thing that Bill points out... Holding onto a grievance doesn't give you control over the offender, and it doesn't "punish" them; it gives THEM control over you, and punishes YOU, because you're the one holding onto the health-harming stress and lack of peace of mind.

A few more great lines I loved from this chapter in Bill's book:

"Forgiveness is not done out of weakness; it is an act of strength and courage."
"Forgiveness is something that happens inside of you. It doesn't mean you're saying what happened to cause a resentment wasn't wrong or that it didn't matter.  It means... I choose to let go of this negative feeling towards the person whom I perceive has hurt me."

" long as any part of our mind or consciousness is engaged with unresolved feelings from the past it will require us to expend valuable energy on it."

" long as we hold onto a grievance, we are chained to the past situation and the offender."
"...granting someone true forgiveness is not based on any conditions. The forgiven don't have to deserve it or earn it. It's an act of grace and mercy on your part."

Just think... if we all kept these guidelines in the front of our minds daily, wouldn't the world be a MUCH better place, with less stress, fighting, hatred, resentment, and pent up anger?  I sure think so.

2.  This second tip is no less important than the first... and it is VERY powerful in helping you to live healthier and happier.

This is another important tip to living life to the fullest that I was reminded of when recently reading Bill's book, Transformation... The story starts off with a day that Bill had the pleasure of meeting fitness icon Jack Lalanne and a reporter from USA Today interviewed them both.

One of the most important questions that the news reporter asked Jack in the interview was "What should people who want to live a healthy life do first thing in the morning?"

The reporter had been expecting a specific tip about exercise or nutrition first thing in the morning... but instead, Jack replied with an answer that carried some very powerful wisdom... he replied "A healthy person always starts by counting their blessings."

What Jack Lalanne understands, that so many people don't, is that gratitude affects not only the health of your mind, but that of your body and your entire well-being too.

I think one of the most important daily rituals that anybody can take up is to lie in bed for 1-2 more minutes after waking up in the morning... and consciously bring to mind all of the things in his/her life that they are thankful for.  It's also important to write down what you are grateful for in your life.

I know that everybody has struggles, but everybody also has things that they should be grateful for.  This one daily ritual can literally change the biochemistry of your body and mind to put you into a more energetic and "feel good" state about your life, and achieve more of your goals...

Don't believe me?

Well, according to Bill in Chapter 16 of Transformation, Dr. Robert Emmons, PhD, from the University of California Davis was involved in a large research project on gratitude, and here were some of his discoveries:

"Those who kept gratitude journals on a weekly basis exercised more often, felt better physically, and had a more positive mindset."

"Study participants who kept gratitude lists were found to be more likely to have made progress towards important personal goals (academic, interpersonal, and health-based) over a 2-month period."
"A daily gratitude intervention (taking time to focus on and write down things to be thankful for) produced higher levels of alertness, enthusiasm, determination, attentiveness, and energy."

"Those who participate in a daily gratitude exercise have lower levels of depression and stress and are more likely to offer emotional support to others and help them make it through their difficulties."

The bottom line... although you may have heard about practicing daily gratitude in the past, are you really doing it daily?  If not, you're missing out on the health benefits, increased energy, better sleep and mood, goal achievements, and just living healthier and happier!

So there you go... I told you that these 2 tips today would be powerful in helping to improve your life!
If you haven't yet read Bill's book, Transformation, I'd highly recommend grabbing a few copies for yourself and for gifts for friends and family.  The book started off a little slow, and I kept thinking to myself, "I know all of this already"... but then about halfway through, the chapters just kept getting more powerful, and I realized there were a lot of things I needed to be reminded about and start practicing more often.

Please share the gift of forgiveness and gratitude with your friends and family by clicking "Share" for Facebook and or Twitter.  It's such an important message to share with others, and benefits everyone.  I think they will appreciate you sharing this article with them!

10 Tips to Succeed at Public Speaking

by Anne Bellamy, Author of Using The Law of Attraction to Help The Universe Help You
Public speaking is said to be the number one fear most people have, even ahead of death.  And if you're a Seinfeld fan, you know his joke that most people at a funeral would rather be in the coffin, then giving the eulogy.  If you have to give a speech and you're losing sleep over it, I've compiled a list of what are my top ten tips to succeed at public speaking.  They've helped me a lot and maybe they can do you some good too.

10. Claim Your Territory.  No I don't mean tinkle all over the room. What I do mean is, try to be the first person in the room where you'll be giving your speech.  Get the feel of the room.  Stand at the front and get used to the view.  This way, when your audience starts to enter, if you're already there, then it's your room.  You are there to greet them.  They are entering your territory, not vice versa.  This puts you in a position of power and will boost your confidence.

9. Use Your Imagination.  Personally, there are some people I just don't want to imagine in their underwear, and more than likely, there will be people like that in your audience.  Like Dale Carnegie, author of How To Win Friends and Influence People said, imagine that everyone in the room owes you money.  Again, it puts you in the power position.

8. Talk About What You Know.  What's the easiest thing for people to talk about?  Themselves!  Why? Because it's a subject everyone is an expert on. I'm not saying that every speech you give will be about yourself, but it does help to add personal anecdotes and examples into your speeches.  Try talking about's easy!

7. It's Cliche, But It Makes Perfect.  Practice, practice, practice.  I like to practice in front of a mirror.  This way you know what the audience will be seeing.  Notice you don't smile much?  Then smile!  Tend to play with your hair? Hands off!  You'll also be forced to look at yourself, and will memorize your speech better, so that you're not staring into cue cards the whole time.

6. Avoid the Pasties.  Always keep a glass or bottle of water nearby.  Speaking nervousness=dry mouth.  It's perfectly okay to take a moment to have a sip of water.

5. Embrace the Jitters.  Nervousness when public speaking is almost unavoidable.  Even those of us who do it regularly, and actually enjoy it, get a bit nervous beforehand.  It means you care, that it matters to you.  Remember, it's usually the first few moments that are the worst.  Get over that hurdle, and you'll feel better.

4. Do It In Your Head First.  Visualize yourself giving a speech.  See yourself looking and acting confident.  Expect the best, not the worst.  It really does help.

3. Don't Be a Stranger.  Stop looking down at your cards, and make eye contact with the audience.  This gives the impression of confidence and your audience will be much more interested and engaged in what you are saying.  You may also find a friendly face out there.  Someone who's smiling or just looks kind.  Keep going back to that person from time to time.

2. Keep on Rolling.  If you make a mistake, that's okay.  In fact, chances are, your audience won't even know that you've made a mistake.  They don't know what you're going to say, so if you forget part of your speech, they're probably none the wiser.

1. There are No Hitmen.  Have you ever listened to someone giving a speech and thought to yourself  "I'd really love it if they messed up.  I'm gonna laugh at them if they do!"  Of course not.  Nobody wants you to fail.  Nobody is waiting for you to mess up.  They want you to do well!  It's uncomfortable for them if you don't.  Nobody is out to get you.

The Truth about Money and Wealth with Dr John Demartini

by Danielle Hutchinson

With the recent events on Wall St, the prospect of economic uncertainty is foremost in the minds of many. Dr John F. Demartini, human behavioural specialist, philosopher and best selling author of several best selling books, including  HOW TO MAKE ONE HELL OF A PROFIT AND STILL GET TO HEAVEN, spoke to American Women Online about what it takes to not only build wealth but to keep it.

The hierarchy of your values determines your destiny

The cornerstone of Dr. Demartini's thought-provoking wealth building strategy is an understanding that all of us have a set of values that dictate how we see and act upon the world. "Your life demonstrates your values," Dr Demartini said in a recent interview with Forbes Magazine.

Dr Demartini says when it comes to building monetary wealth the potential for this happening is dependent on not only where it sits in our hierarchy of values, but whether or not we value wealth and money as a means to an end or an end in itself.

What so many people who set goals around attaining wealth fail to realise is that what they are really valuing is what wealth can buy not wealth itself; they want the house, cars, clothes, travel, children's educations etc. This mindset values money only as a means to an end, so even though many may have managed to get themselves into a position where lots of money is coming in they will not become wealthy unless money is valued enough to have a strategy for keeping it.

This means that saving money would need to be one of the top values if wealth is to be built. Otherwise it will flow straight back out again to buy or pay for those things that are placed higher up in their hierarchy.

Dr. Demartini says that those with low values on saving money will more often than not, raise their standards when more money starts coming in; they get a bigger house, better car, clothes etc.

There is no right or wrong in what each person chooses to do with their money. Most people are not aware of their true values, so they unknowingly set goals that are incongruent with what their life is demonstrating as important to them. If they have wealth building and saving low on their values and yet still keep expecting to build wealth, they become frustrated and feel like a failure because they are unable to reach their financial goals.

Dr. Demartini explains, "If you aren't already wealthy or very much on your way to creating wealth, then the probability that you will become wealthy is not high. Often creating wealth is a whim and there is no commitment in the long-term, you might do it for a while, but will eventually move onto something that is actually a higher value."

Dr. Demartini has found that if people truly want to change their financial destiny the most effective strategy is restructuring their value system. He says it is the single most significant factor and will only work if saving and building wealth becomes part of the top 5 in the hierarchy.

The inner conflict between "heavenly good" and "hellish profit"

Dr. Demartini's motivation for writing his book, HOW TO MAKE ONE HELL OF A PROFIT AND STILL GET TO HEAVEN was based on his observation of the inner conflict so many people have around money and wealth. He found that even though some would outwardly acknowledge their desire for great wealth, they would inwardly feel guilty about acquiring it.

He says that people often believe that in acquiring wealth they'll somehow become evil, fear that it can only be done at the expense of others or by compromising their higher spiritual values and virtuous nature.

"It's better to give than to receive", "money is the root of all evil" and "filthy rich" are just a few of many time honoured favourites that pervade our culture. It's no wonder that the prospect of restructuring one's hierarchy of values in order to attain wealth strikes fear into the heart of many "good" folks.

"There are two driving forces in human beings, spiritualism and materialism," Dr Demartini said. And yet because most people have the two divided, they don't acknowledge or appreciate that all of the great human achievements have both.

In keeping with the ancient maxim, "Spirit without matter is expressionless and matter without spirit is motionless", Demartini likens intangible spirit and tangible matter to two sides of a golden coin, where the rejection of either side prevents you from ever holding its whole richness. He describes heaven as a state of gratitude for the magnificence and perfection of divine order, whereas hell is its opposite - it is ingratitude and the state of "dis-grace", often based on a lopsided view of reality and is a source of diminished self worth.

Confronting as this may be to some, if we are honest with ourselves we too can observe that the religions of the world have always understood the value of material wealth, and anyone that's ever worked for a not-for profit organisation or tried to start up a charity knows all too well that regardless of how altruistic the intention, one of the top priorities is always to raise funds or capital.

So when we truly look we can see that in reality there is always both giving and receiving. Dr. Demartini has found that until we have gratitude for both, until we embrace and appreciate both equally we will struggle to unleash the exceptional power of one of the greatest of all spiritual, material and financial laws - the principle of fair exchange. The sign that you value yourself is that you are willing to have fair exchange.

In his book Demartini says that "Human emotions interfere with wealth building more than anything else". Along with unresolved guilt and shame he identifies seven fears that commonly sabotage our willingness to receive. These are:

the fear of breaking some perceived authority's morals or ethics

the fear of not knowing enough, being smart enough or creative enough

the fear of failure

the fear of the loss of money

the fear of losing loved ones

the fear of rejection

the fear of not being vital, beautiful, handsome or energetic enough

Through his work, Dr. Demartini has found that these seven fears, along with our guilt and shame, stem from the past and create baggage that lowers self worth. When this happens people move into altruism as a way of compensating because they feel others are more worthy than they are. They want to give disproportionately to what they receive.

There are of course people on the other end of the extreme who overvalue themselves, they become narcissistic and feel they are more worthy than others; they want to receive disproportionately to what they give.

Dr. Demartini says this greed leads to the kind of situation now faced on Wall Street where investors got caught up in the emotional exuberance of overinflated prices and became blind to the fact that the market will always correct itself. However, he also points out that people who have lasting wealth are conservative with their money; they have a strategy and stick to it regardless of the emotional highs and lows of the money market.

Demartini has observed that any time the market goes up or down by more than 10% people without a strategy do foolish things. Warren Buffet, the world's richest man (2008) and noted philanthropist says, "Until you can mange your emotions, don't expect to be able to manage money."

"The people I know who have money and wealth have a balance, they are grounded and inspired, they have a vision of service to people, they are willing to go out and do the service, and at the same time they have a healthy deserve level and they work hard and they receive. There is a little bit of truth in the metaphysics but I don't want to teach an incomplete thing."

"Don't try to get something for nothing or give something for nothing. Give and receive, it's the wisest thing," Dr Demartini said.

Why Do You Fear Success: Get Over It

by Anne Bellamy, Author of Using The Law of Attraction to Help The Universe Help You

It sounds crazy, doesn't it?  To actually be afraid of success. After all, here's what success looks like:

How is it that so many of us are afraid of that which can bring us so much joy?  That's a trick question.  The answer is, that many people do not believe success will bring us joy.  The vast majority of people actually believe that success will bring misery.  That success can never last.  Do these sayings sound familiar?

Money is the root of all evil.
Money can't buy you love
Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it

No wonder we fear success.  Surely nothing good can come of it.   With that way of thinking, you are right.  Success will bring you misery.  How destructive is that way of thinking, though?  Do you really think you'll be happier if you're unsuccessful?  How does that look?

Hmmm.....Maybe it's time you got over your mentality of "lack" and "I don't deserve it".  Start cultivating a mentality of "abundance" and "I'm worth it!"

Compare the pictures above and you will naturally know which state you want.

Building Self-Confidence Through Goal Setting

by Anne Bellamy, Author of Using The Law of Attraction to Help The Universe Help You

One of the easiest and best ways to build your self-confidence is to set daily goals for yourself.  These goals do not have to be monumental, or change the world.  They just have to be tiny little steps that you'd like to take, that would make you feel better about yourself.  Accomplishment is something that we all strive for, as it's what makes us happy.  Think about it.  How happy were you when you:

Got your first job?
Bought your first house?
Bought your first car?

Pretty proud of yourself, right? Okay, well then, give yourself that feeling every day.  Let's start small, especially if you're working on building your self-confidence.  Here are some daily goals you can set for yourself:

1. Get up half an hour earlier than usual and this even if it's raining!  You'll feel productive, focused and more importantly, proud of yourself.

2. Exercise. Resolve to do some form of exercise every day.  Even if you've had a busy day, try and walk home from the station, or do some stretches at your desk.  Something that makes you say "my body will thank me for this." You know it feels good after you've exercised, and I'm not talking just about physically.

3. Do not criticize or gossip.  Are you that person at work who loves to spread rumours....or do you sit next to them?  Strive today to not get involved in any mud-slinging conversations.  See the bright side of things.  Smile a little more today.  Don't take things so seriously.  The more you focus on positive things, the less you will be noticing the negatives.

4. Read some self-help books.  Instead of plopping yourself in front of the television, decide to spend half an hour reading something that nourishes your mind, and better yet, your self-confidence and self-love.
Here's some great suggestions:

Everyone has their own idea of what accomplishments are.  How about cleaning the kitchen? Vacuuming the living room? Shovelling the driveway?  It doesn't really matter, as long as it's a goal that is attainable to you, and one that will make you feel proud of yourself.

The prouder you feel about yourself, the more it will show.  You will begin to radiate self-confidence.  The more you treat yourself with respect and love, the more others will do the same.  It all starts with self-confidence.

Law of Attraction: Train Your Mind

by Anne Bellamy, Author of Using The Law of Attraction to Help The Universe Help You

A trick you may use in getting the Universe to do your bidding is to use affirmations in your daily life.  They may start out as something that you do not really believe in, but like water on the rocks, the more consistently you repeat affirmations, the more you are imprinting them into your mind.  Once your mind is imprinted, or in a state of belief, than you can send out these vibrations to the Universe.

Any affirmation that is repeated often enough will eventually be accepted as true by your mind.  The Universe will not know the difference between that which you have trained your mind to believe and that which was already a belief in the first place.  In fact, the affirmation will, more often than not, replace the belief that has been there for years.

This is a good thing! So many beliefs that have existed in your mind for years and years, do not serve you!  Replace those negative and unfulfilling beliefs with beliefs that affirm your greatness and your oneness with the Universe.  Start today by finding an affirmation that suits you.  Here are some suggestions:

  • I have the perfect body

  • I am abundant

  • I am loving

  • I am a money magnet

  • I love money

  • I am patience

  • I am grateful

  • I am caring

  • I am rich

  • I am healthy

Try some of these, or come up with your own!  You control your mind.  It is a tool for you.  You can train it to believe anything you want it to believe.

Law of Attraction: What are You Focused On?

by Anne Bellamy, Author of Using The Law of Attraction to Help The Universe Help You

In learning the Law of Attraction there must be one simple thing that you have learned.  What you focus on, materializes.  Whether it's something you want, or not.  What I want to do today is look at what you are focused on, and why.

Because it's always the why that provides insight into the emotion behind the goal.  If you are focused on becoming rich, what is your motivation?  Are you focusing on becoming rich because you do not want to be poor?  Are you focused on riches because you are afraid of losing everything?  Are you focused on your money, or are you really focused on your lack of money?

You have to look at the motivation behind your point of focus, in other words the why. If you are focused on becoming rich for any of the above reasons, then you will never become rich.  Your motivation for wanting something, must always feel like a positive motivation.  It must always make you smile.  Does fearing debt make  you smile?  No, it probably gives you a stomach ache.

Does imagining yourself on a private yacht, suntanning on deck with a glass of champagne make  you smile?  Can you imagine yourself there?  Can you feel the warmth of the sun on your skin?

Can you feel the bubbles in the champagne as they slide down your throat?  Does that feel good? You betcha.  Your motivation for riches has now become something that makes you feel good.

If focusing on your goal, whatever it may be, doesn't make you smile, then you either have to change the goal, or change the motivation (why) behind the goal. You cannot keep your eye on  your destination if you are looking behind you all the time.  Look forward, see and feel your destination coming closer.

Build Your Self-Confidence and Learn to Be Happy

by Anne Bellamy, Author of Using The Law of Attraction to Help The Universe Help You

If you are lacking in Self-confidence than you are lacking in what is one of your greatest tools.  Your level of self-confidence determines what you bring into this experience of your life.  The way to bring more self-confidence into your life is to be still with yourself.

A lot of people feel uncomfortable just being alone, never mind being still.  But you must not be afraid to be alone.  For it is in this solitude that you will be able to develop an incredibly strong sense of self-confidence.

How does this work?  When you are alone, there is no one to influence your thoughts.  There is no one to dominate your attention.  Everything that you think about can be focussed on you and you alone. By the way, you always have the ability to do this, it's just easier with no distractions.

So, for the novice, find some time and space to yourself.  Be alone and feel comfortable with it.  Feel at peace with the solitude.  Invite it in.  There is absolutely nothing wrong with being alone.  Some absolutely love it!

You need to learn to love your own company.  You need to grow, on your terms, at your own speed.  When you find yourself alone, or when you make yourself alone, give some time to consider your thoughts.  What are you thinking about all day long?  Do you punish yourself for being late?  Do you worry about having a bad hair day?  Do you think this outfit makes you look fat?

All this self-doubt only sabotages your happiness and therefore, your future.  Do you know the saying that you wouldn't worry so much what people think about you if you realized how little people think about you?  Consider that!

Really, how often do you think about other people? Not too often. Most of us are self-absorbed. That's great on some level.  If that self-absorption leads you to a good place, but if you're lacking in self-confidence, that self-absorption is quite harmful.

You need to start thinking about what you do like about yourself.  You need to start realizing that the Universe loves you.  That you have a spirit guide, who loves you.  Call it what you will, there is a higher power who sees all the glory that is you.

Spend some time alone and consider your good qualities.  Make a point of doing so.  Count your blessings.  Big yourself up!  You need to do this before you can attract more happiness and abundance into your life.  Here's a few things about yourself that may make you smile:

  • Your sense of humour

  • Your intelligence

  • Your kindness

  • Your compassion

  • Your patience

  • Your curiosity

  • Your smile

  • Your laugh

  • Your physical appearance

  • The friends you have attracted

  • The family who loves you

  • Your pet who loves you

You may only relate to a few of the things on this list, but that's okay.  Pick what you relate to, and focus on those things!  Be grateful for your compassion, your patience or you intelligence.

Feel your head with gratitude and appreciation!  Your self-confidence will start to rise.  You will start to believe in  yourself. And when you have belief, you are speaking the language of the Universe, and it will start to reply.

Feel Gratitude and Live in Abundance

by Anne Bellamy, Author of Using The Law of Attraction to Help The Universe Help You

In your life there are many, many things for you to be grateful for.  I don't care who you are or what your circumstances are.  There are always things you can look at and say Thank You! to the Universe for.  You can be grateful that you are alive for one thing.  You can be grateful for air that you breathe.  You can be grateful for the cool breeze you feel on your face after a warm summer day.  You can be grateful for the cool ocean water that splashes your skin.  You can be grateful for the bright blue sky above your head.  You can be grateful for the miracles that nature show you every day.

Wherever you look, if you truly look, you will find things to be grateful for.  That's the trick though, isn't it?  You really have to look for it sometimes. And many times, we forget to look.  I have a thought to share with you that might inspire you to look more often: When you feel gratitude, even for the smallest thing, the Universe feels that gratitude and gives you more to be grateful for.  When you feel grateful to have money to pay that energy bill, the Universe will provide you with opportunities to have more money.  Doesn't that sound  like the best reason , ever, to pay a bill?

Even our hardships are things to be grateful for.  When we experience something we don't like, we automatically learn what we do like. (for if you don't like rainy weather, you realize you like sunny weather) When you realize what you do like, be grateful for that opportunity to experience what  you didn't like, because the Universe will recognize the gratitude you feel in the lesson you have learned.  We experience hardships so that we can know what we like. Be grateful for that! Know what you like and give thanks!

Here's a video I found which might help you realize all there is (and more!) to be grateful for.  Watch it everyday if you need a boost.

Your Spirit Guide and Quiet Meditation

by Anne Bellamy, Author of Using The Law of Attraction to Help The Universe Help You

Accessing your spirit guide is something that absolutely every single one of you can do.  You need not be gifted, or special or "chosen" to connect and communicate with your guide.  You all have the power within yourselves.  It is just a matter of tapping into it.  Allowing it to flow and allowing yourself that connection that your spirit guide so wants with you.

The easiest and most effective way to do this is be quiet contemplation, or meditation.  Sit quietly with yourself and breathe deeply.  Try not to think of anything but your breath at first.  Then, once you've taken a few deep breaths, start thinking about what it would be like to communicate with  your spirit guide.  How would that go?  What questions would you ask?  Would it be male or female?  Does it have a name? How would it respond to your questions?  Would the answers pop into your head?  Would you be able to do some automatic writing?  Or will the answer be shown to you as soon as you open your eyes and pick up the nearest newspaper?  Answers are everywhere, after all.

This quiet contemplation of your spirit guide and how s/he works will result in calling forth your guide.  Remember, the more you focus on a thing, the nearer you draw it to you. Focus on your guide, and it will appear.  It's always there, by the way.  It doesn't answer your call, as such, it merely becomes visible or apparent to you.  Like opening a door and seeing someone already standing there.  Your guide wants to communicate with you.  It wants to help you.  It's there to do just that.  So, go ahead and ask it any question you want....and I mean anything.  Don't be embarrassed, because it already knows the question before you ask it anyway.  It's a part of you, remember?  As you ask, so shall you receive.  Listen to the answers your guide provides to you.  Look out for signs.

Become intuitive by being aware of your surroundings. Look for the answers and you will find them.

Do not be afraid of your spirit guide.  It knows a few things about you that you may have forgotten.  It knows that you are:

Not so scary is it? Go on and meet your spirit. You'll be thrilled that you did.

The Power of Forgiveness

by Anne Bellamy, Author of Using The Law of Attraction to Help The Universe Help You

You are this very moment living in a world full of rage, hatred and anger.  The world that you have created is swirling with negative emotions every single moment of every single day.  It is a dangerous vortex to get trapped into because of its pulling power.  It is so easy to slip into these feelings and for them to gather strength and send you on a vicious ride of negative emotions which net you nothing but pain and sorrow.

Do you know there is a way off this ride?  So many people don't realize this.  So many people think they are trapped.  They are however only as trapped as they allow themselves to be.  Many times  you have heard about the power of gratitude,I'm sure, and it is a powerful emotion, but what I'd like to share with you today is the power of forgiveness.  If someone "wrongs" you, what is your first reaction?  Many times it's anger, frustration, resentment, and thoughts of revenge.  The old "I'll show them" thought pattern.  The more you plot revenge, the bigger that chip becomes on your shoulder.  Next thing you know, it's now a boulder!

It's awfully difficult to carry a boulder around, wouldn't you say? It's not very healthy for you either.  The more resentment you feel towards someone, the more negative feelings you surround yourself with.  You are hurting yourself far more than the person who is the target of your anger.  Here's a tip for you: let that person deal with their own issues, for if they've done something that "wronged" you, then there are two likelihoods:

1. They weren't aware of it.
2. They were aware of it, and therefore are carrying around their own boulder.

Don't carry someone else's boulder for them.  Your job here in this life is to live in Happiness, and it's your responsibility to attain that Happiness.  But you will never be Happy until you learn to forgive.  In practical terms, here's how resentment will hurt you.

Let's say you have a boss who you can't stand.  He's done something (again!) that infuriates you.

That embarrasses you, that makes you look silly in front of your colleagues.  The angrier you get, or rather, allow yourself to get, the more you think about what made you angry in the first place.  The more you think about that anger, the more you attract to yourself situations which bring you anger. And then the whole cycle keeps repeating itself over and over again.  Wouldn't you like to break free of that harmful cycle?  Well, you can!

The very best thing you can do for yourself is to forgive.  Remember, taking revenge out on someone else is focusing on them.  Learning to forgive someone, is focusing on You.  It's telling the Universe "I'm letting this go. I won't carry this around.  I free myself right now."

And do it!  Really do it!  You will feel lighter, Happier, and more in control of your life.  The Universe likes that!  The Universe will respond to that.  You will feel free much more often.....and that leads to the ultimate goal: Happiness.
So, for the sake of your own Happiness, forgive.

Love, Meditation, Spirituality and The Universe.

by Anne Bellamy, Author of Using The Law of Attraction to Help The Universe Help You

If you are at a point in your life where you are desperately looking for something, for someone, for anything to inspire you, to move you, to motivate you, then look no further that no yourself.  For all the resources that you will ever possibly need are within you.  All you need to do is know how to access them.  For many of you, this remains a mystery.  For thousands and billions of you, it remains elusive.  It really is so simple.
It is as easy as 1, 2, 3.

1. Find a quiet space where you can be alone with yourself spirit, your inner voice.

2. Breathe deeply, in and out, in and out. Focus on nothing but your breath. Feel at ease and relaxed.

3. Feel the love within you welling up. Imagine yourself being filled with love and then radiating that love out to the rest of the world.  Start small.  Radiate it out into the room you are in.  Then send it out to the rest of your house, your neighbourhood, you city, your country.  Cross oceans and deserts. Imagine your love transcending above all else, travelling at the speed of light, reaching all corners of the Universe.  Send it out to your family, and friends.  Send it out to those people in need.  Send it out to everyone! It will get there.

When you practice this special meditation, those feelings of love pulsate through you and make you feel at one with the Universe.  Those vibrations of love let you know that you are remarkable, wonderful and great.  You have a lot to give this world.  You will receive so much more when you do.

Whatever it is that is your soul calling, being singing, writing, teaching, doctoring, flying, anything, that which is your calling will be brought to you through your own feelings of love.  Share them with the world, the Universe and they will come back to you.  Practice this meditation daily and you will see the world full of love.

A Simple, Yet Powerful Little Truth About You and the Universe

by Anne Bellamy, Author of Using The Law of Attraction to Help The Universe Help You

Your emotions are your guidance system. Whatever you are feeling is a direct indication of whether or not you are in alignment with who you really are.  What do I mean by that?  I mean your Soul Work.  What are you here for?  What goals to you want to accomplish in this life.  How do you want to go about it?  Listen to that little inner voice that says YES! whenever something excites you.  Follow that feeling. When you are feeling Happy, Joyful, Loving, Grateful, or any other positive emotion, you are leaning towards who you really are. Those good feelings are the Universe's way of saying "Yes! You're on the right track.  This is who you are!"

Conversely when you're feeling negative emotions like hate, anger, jealousy, sadness, depression, the Universe is still trying to give you a message.  That message is "This is not who you are.  This is uncomfortable.  This doesn't fit." When you think about it, isn't that a great system?  Doesn't that give you the utmost hope? So, if you are feeling upset over your financial circumstances, do you know what that really means?  It means the Universe is saying " but you're Rich! Why are you feeling poor? Get out of this space immediately!"  Isn't it comforting to know that your negative emotions are the Universe's way of saying that, in fact, you are the opposite of what you are feeling? That must mean the Universe knows you are:

Abundant in every good way
And a million other wonderful things....

To me, that's a very comforting thought.  I recommend you remember that the next time you are feeling down.  It's the Universe's way of saying "Chin up! You are better than this!"  So, why not listen? You well automatically feel better when you realize this simple, yet powerful little truth.  You are SPLENDID!!! And The Universe knows it.

Claim Responsibility for Your Own Happiness

by Anne Bellamy, Author of Using The Law of Attraction to Help The Universe Help You

Do you want a happy and fulfilling life?  Most of us do, but many of us don't know how to get it.  Deep down many people don't realize that they have the power to create their happy life.  They think that they are the victims of fate or destiny: that bad luck just knows how to find them.  Guess what?  They're right.  Not because it's true, but believe they believe it's true. If you think that Happiness will forever avoid you then it will

That's the reality that you are bringing into your life.  If you want to make a change, then start with yourself.  I know how corny that sounds, but bear with me. If you believe that you were destined to be poor, then you will be letting opportunity pass you by.  Those who believe that they are worthy of Happiness, and who have made the decision to be happy, will have those opportunities come knocking on their door. If you see a beautiful red sports car and think "I'll never have one of those" then the Universe will give you exactly what you believe: The experience of never having a red sports car!  If you don't believe you can have it, then you won't think about having it, owning it, driving it.  You won't come up with ideas on how to attain it.  You will just stare at it with resentment and your thoughts about it will confirm your reality.  If you want to stay like this, then have fun riding the bus.

If, however, you realize that YOU are powerful and creative, then take responsibility for your thoughts and see yourself behind the wheel of that car.  Feel the wind in your hair.  Believe it can be yours.  Take the wheel and steer your thoughts in the right direction. Godspeed.

Exercise Your Mind, Like You Would Your Body

by Anne Bellamy, Author of Using The Law of Attraction to Help The Universe Help You

It's a New Year, and while many people have made the resolution to lose weight by exercising the body, not as many people have resolved to be happier by exercising their mind.  While it is important to have a healthy body, it is even more important to have a  healthy mind.  Instead of going for a run today, while not sit down and have some meditation time?  Simply sit, close your eyes and count your breaths.  Take a time out.  Relax.  Then, when your ready, start another fun exercise with the mind: Visualization.  Picture yourself how you want to be, and feel it happening to you.  Do you feel a smile on your face?  Even, perhaps a little teardrop falling from your eye?  That is the power of visualization. Your mind is believing what it is seeing, what you are telling it to see, and your emotions are corresponding to that.  Plant those happy visions in your mind.  When you believe it, you will feel it and when you feel it, you will see it.

Take Control of Your Thoughts for a Happier Life

by Anne Bellamy, Author of Using The Law of Attraction to Help The Universe Help You

You have the power to create the life of your dreams.  You have the power to train your thoughts to bring all your desires to you.  Remember always, that what you think about is what you live about.  Your thoughts are powerful messages being sent out to a Universe that loves you.  This Universe is more than happy to send you all those dreams you wish would come true.  However, The Law of Attraction is set up so that the Universe can only bring you that which you think of.  The Universe is on your side, always! The Universe feels your pain, your joy, your sorrow, your regret, your happiness, just as you do.  It only makes sense that it wishes to experience more joy and happiness, just as you do.

The Universe wants to be happy, but in order for this to be so, You must be Happy.  Send Happy thoughts out to the Universe on a regular basis.  Do it with purpose, on purpose.  Train your brain.  Control your thoughts.  Reach for that better feeling.  See the humour in any situation.  Feel the love.  Choose the better feeling emotion.  You always have a choice on how to react to events and people in your life.  Choose reactions and emotions which serve you and raise your vibrations to a higher level.  Take responsibility for your emotions and reactions and thoughts. It is a cop-out to say that you can't help how you feel, or that you can't help what you think.  You're just being lazy!  Give yourself more credit and more power.  You will always be in control.  You can always bring joy into your life.  You can always be Happy.  Realize this, and choose it for yourself.  I promise you'll thank me for it.
