The Money Attracting Challenge: Day 3

by Anne Bellamy, Author of Using The Law of Attraction to Help The Universe Help You

Day 3 of The Money Attracting Challenge started off for me with a session of TaeBo.  I really do love this workout because when it's over I feel strong and powerful.  Puts me in a great mood.  Plus, at the end of the DVD Billy Blanks has a great message about positivity and how words have power.  Use your words wisely, and say positive things, is his message.  He also speaks about being grateful and feeling blessed.  This guys knows a thing or two about The Law of Attraction!

I listened to his message and took his words to heart.  Now more than ever, I find myself cutting short those negative thoughts that pop into my head and turning them around.  That inner critic is getting smaller and smaller by the minute.  I can feel her disappearing.  It feels great!

In addition to the workout, I also did my daily meditation for 20 minutes.  Some days are better than others, but when I have a day that proves difficult for me to simply follow my breath, I just shrug my shoulders and say "That's okay, no worries" and then I let it go.  I don't scold myself for having an unproductive meditation session.  I just trust that the day will still unfold fine, and you know what?  It did, and it does.

I think this challenge is going to be very good for me.  Setting goals and announcing them publicly have made me much more accountable for my thoughts and actions.  Thank you Chauncey for laying down the gauntlet!

See you tomorrow :-)

The Money Attracting Challenge: Day 2

by Anne Bellamy, author of Using The Law of Attraction To Help The Universe Help You

Day 2 of The Money Attracting Challenge.  I found myself in a swirl of thoughts, trying to come up with ideas on what I can do each and every day during this challenge.  Some good ideas popped up, then went away.  Some stayed, but when I tried implementing them, they felt forced.  So I stepped back.  And relaxed.

I started to meditate.  I've been a big fan of meditation for awhile now.  I don't really even care if it helps bring all my dreams and wishes to my doorstep: I like it because it feels good.  I like the peace.  I like the silence.  I like the solitude.  I like the relief.

On Day 2 I also made a decision:  Whenever I felt myself criticize something or someone, have a negative thought, be a glass is half-empty person I would stop myself and say "I am blessed. And the reasons I am blessed are:"

1. My health.  I've always been well.  Everything works the way it should, and boy am I glad about that!

2. My home. I have one.  It's a house that I've come to love, that I call home, that gives me warmth and shelter.  That I look forward to coming back to at the end of the day.

3. My personal relationships: Fantastic boyfriend: check. Wonderful family: check. Hilarious friends: check.

I made a longer list, but you get the idea.  Just typing it out again has made me smile....so you could say this journal is one of the steps I'm taking to attract money.  Let's say yes.

I also listened to a favourite hypnosis recording on Youtube: Ask Your Money Angel
It always puts a huge smile on my face, leaving me feeling abundant, magnetic and powerful.

As for my swirl of thoughts, maybe tomorrow one of my ideas will not feel forced, but rather inspired.  That's when you know it's a keeper.

p.s. Cleaning up after dinner, I opened the fridge to put the leftovers away.  I had a hard time finding any space for them and thought to myself  "Arrgghhh!!!  There's too much food in this fridge!" I checked myself right away.  Seriously, I was complaining that I HAD TOO MUCH FOOD! So I switched my thoughts immediately to "Thank you God, Universe for providing all this food for me. I am truly abundant" I felt much better, and you know what?  I found some space for the leftovers.

The Money Attracting Challenge: Day 1

by Anne Bellamy, author of Using The Law of Attraction To Help The Universe Help You

So, following up from yesterday's post, I started my Money Attracting Challenge.  My first step was to chose an amount of money and a timeframe within which I expect to attract it.

I decided on the sum of £1000. That's roughly $1500-$1600 American, and Canadian, for you Canucks out there like me. This is in addition to the usual means of income I get.  My deadline is August 31, as my friend, Chauncey Scott, who is orchestrating this challenge, would like it to be sometime on or before September 1st.

The second step was to keep track, in a journal, all that I did to attract this amount of money.  This is the part that will take discipline, but here goes:

Yesterday I went for a 40 minute run (hey, this challenge might end up being an exercise challenge for me too).  I don't actually run for 40 minutes straight, I do intervals: walk 2 minutes, sprint 1 minute and so on.
I take my ipod with me, and use the digital stopwatch on it.

During each 2 minute walking period, I repeatedly used positive affirmations.  Here are some of the thoughts I had:

I am in the process of attracting abundance.
The Universe is in the process of delivering abundance to me.
I love feeling abundant!

I would interchange the word abundance with: wealth, riches, happiness, joy, freedom etc.

During the 1 minute sprint I simply repeated how long I had to run for: "Run till 3 (minute mark) Run till 3, Run till 3, in a meditative way.  This prevents me from thinking "God, this hurts!" or "Why am I doing this?" It kept my mind focus on something neutral.

When the 1 minute was up, my immediate thought was "Phew! I love this feeling of relief"

That's it folks, 40 minutes of feeling abundant, relief, happiness....and yes, I had a constant smile on my face, which probably got noticed by some of the passing motorists, but what they thought of me is none of my business.

Till tomorrow!

The Money Attracting Challenge. Are YOU Up For It?

by Anne Bellamy, author of Using The Law of Attraction To Help The Universe Help You

My good friend, Chauncey Scott has come up with a challenge that I think will be very interesting and beneficial to many people.  What he wants us to do is this:

1. Focus on a certain amount of money you'd like to attract.
2. Pick a timeframe in which you'd like to attract this money (on or before September 1st)
3. Keep a daily journal and record what actions, thoughts, beliefs, words etc, you use, every day to attract this money.

I'm so pumped he asked me to join!  For a few reasons:
1. Hey, I could use the extra money, couldn't you?
2. Journalling every day will keep me honest, on track, and will force me to think about wealth.
3. After everyone has finished, they'll report their progress back to Chauncey, for his new book.

I'm so happy to help him in this endeavour.  He's become a good friend, through Twitter and Facebook (who knew?) and I'd love to help him succeed.  What's the point of having friends if we don't help each other, right?

So, if you're interested in joining us, please follow Chauncey here.

Also, he's suggested that I post my journal on my blog every day....again, another challenge that I think I'm up for!  I've already started journaling for today, but as it's only midday as I write this, I'll post today's entry tomorrow and so forth till I'm done.

Here's to greater wealth and abundance for all of us!

Attracting Money using Appreciation

by Anne Bellamy, author Using The Law of Attraction to Help The Universe Help You

So, I'm sitting at home feeling like I want to be inspired. I called out to the Universe that I want inspiration today...that I need to be energized! Then sat back, and trusted the Universe would bring it to me. About an hour later I open my email to see a message from Hemal Radia on his newest blog post, below. This message came just when I needed it to....of course! I attracted it and trusted the Universe to bring it to me. Thank you Universe! and Hemal :-)

Making Positive Affirmations Work For You

by Anne Bellamy, Author of Using the Law of Attraction to Help The Universe Help You

Anyone who is interested in the Law of Attraction, personal growth and self-improvement will have heard of  and tried to use positive affirmations to turn their dreams into realities. Many of these affirmations look something like this:

I am happy
I am rich
I am beautiful

.....to name just a few.  While I have no problem with using these affirmations, and have in fact, extolled their virtue, many people have a hard time with the structure of the above affirmations.  It's the "I am" part that they struggle with.  Sometimes when you say "I am rich" that little voice inside your head says "No I'm not" making it difficult for the affirmation to do its good work.

If this sounds familiar to you, then I have a suggestion which will ease your way into the "I am" - ness of affirmations.  Instead of saying "I am"  say to yourself  "I feel".

I feel happy
I feel rich
I feel beautiful

or maybe "Today I choose to feel happy.  Today I choose to feel rich.  Today I choose to feel beautiful."

There's a big difference between those two thoughts, at least that little voice in your head will think so.  "I am" seems like a lie...."Where's the proof that you're rich?  You haven't got it! Ha! It must be a lie."  Whereas "I feel" doesn't need proof.  You can feel whatever you like, whenever you like, however you like.  And when you feel a certain way, the Law of Attraction kicks in, the universe responds, and how you feel will soon be your reality.  Then you'll have your proof and can start saying "I am" again.

Try it for a while and see how it feels!

Pay Attention to The Stories You Keep Telling Yourself: The Law of Attraction is Always Listening

by Anne Bellamy, Author of Using The Law of Attraction to Help The Universe Help You

Yesterday my boyfriend and I were standing on the flat roof above our living room, hammering out nails from pieces of wood that were stripped off our roof when we had it reslated.  Our house has undergone a lot of renovation in the last five years, and we're still not completely done.  We've got a scaffold up and the roof is done, the windows are getting painted. Next is the kitchen.

But what happened a few weeks ago, was that the same flat roof we were standing on, started to leak.  Boyfriend quickly got up there and put some sealent on it.  Then, a few days ago, another leak appeared at a different spot on the flat roof.  Again, sealent was quickly applied.  It was while we were standing on this roof yestereday, that my boyfriend looked at it, saw all the sealent, looked at the scaffold and sighed "It's always something with this house"

I just smiled, as I know he's getting frustrated with all the work.  I was conscious not to add to that sentiment though.  I know the stories that you tell yourself, are the ones that the universe and the law of attraction are listening to, and the ones they respond to.

Not ten minutes later, boyfriend went downstairs, came back up and said "There's a leak in the kitchen ceiling!" After much inspection and investigation, the leak was found (the toilet was filling up too much after being flushed, and the afterflow was leaking down.....don't worry, it's the clean water!)  Problem was quickly fixed (boyfriend is extremely handy) But his body language looked defeated.

So I shared what I knew about how the universe works.  He knows I'm into this stuff, and he's willing to listen, but not fully convinced.  Anyway, I told him, we have to stop making comments like "It's always something with this house" and start making comments like:

"I love this house"
"I appreciate having a home to live in"
"Isn't our garden beautiful?"
"I love the colour we painted our living room"
"Our couch is so comfy!"

We've agreed.  Appreciation for this house is the way forward.  I've started stroking the walls every day and saying "I love you" I'll let you know what happens.

What stories are you telling yourself that are, without you intending to, damaging your experiences?  What beliefs do you say out loud that get sent back to you by the universe and the law of attraction?  Watch your thoughts and words.  They have power.
